"He Knows, He Sees, He Cares"

Hey guys!! I am posting this early because on Monday I’ll be on a boat in the middle of the ocean…(and I’m not sad about it..ha!!)

He knows, He sees, He cares…

The God of the UNIVERSE…the One who made the stars and the seas…the One who formed planets and galaxies…the One who made the whole earth…wants YOU to know today, that you are SEEN, you’re KNOWN, He CARES for you, and He LOVES You more than you could ever comprehend!!! I live in awe of this reality. I am truly amazed at how close He is, and how many HUGE prayers He has answered in my life…but also amazed by all of the little prayers He has answered. These are the prayers that I was almost AFRAID to pray, because I thought it was such a little and insignificant thing to be praying for when there were indeed much more significant things I could’ve and should’ve been praying for. The truth is that God cares about it all! He cares about children across the globe who go to bed hungry every night, He cares about ending wars in the middle East…and He cares about the jean skirt that you want:))

So, here’s a story for you…I was in Marshalls last year, and for some reason I had been wanting to find a cute jean skirt to wear (which is HILARIOUS, because I used to own a ton of them!! NOTE: If you are 20 and under, do NOT give away your clothes! In a few years all the clothes that you think are out of date will be cool again.. I promise!) ANYWAYS, I was about to leave the store when I decided to pray a little prayer under my breath. It went something like this..”God, could you help me find a jean skirt today?” I am not even joking…within 5 minutes I was skimming this row of clothing and lo and behold…YES…a jean skirt was hanging there..exactly my size..exactly the kind I was wanting!! Whaaat!!! I tried it on just to be safe, and of course it fit like a charm! I almost broke down crying in Marshalls because even though I knew He could answer my prayer, in the back of my mind I was thinking “what a silly thing to pray for.”

Here is the part of the story that really got me thinking..I was paying for my skirt and I decided I most definitely should tell the lady about how awesome God is and how He just answered my prayer. When I told her, she laughed a little and said, “Oh hunny, I don’t think God cares about things like that.” I smiled politely, but inside I was crushed for her. The more I experience God in this way, the more my heart aches for people who don’t know this side of Him. He’s a loving Father who walks with us every day of our lives and He cares about the smallest details! I am not a parent (yet), but all of my friends who have kiddos would do absolutely ANYTHING to put a smile on their kids faces.

Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask, and God will give to you. Search, and you will find. Knock, and the door will open for you.” (NCV) It goes on to say that our Heavenly Father will give good things to those ask him!

Psalm 37:4 says, “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.” (ESV) Matthew 10:29-31, …”not even one (sparrow) can die without your Father’s knowing it. God even knows how many hairs are on your head…(and) you are worth much more than many sparrows.” (NCV)

I am absolutely convinced that He cares about every single detail of our lives. I could tell you SO many more stories of how God has answered my prayers, but for now I just want to encourage someone…

You might need something from God right now and you might be thinking “He doesn’t care about that”, or “He has much bigger things to deal with” or “I don’t want to bother Him with that.” My friend, the beautiful part of all of this is that He is GOD, and He can handle everything!! Nothing is too big, and nothing is too small for Him. I truly believe He is more bothered when we decide to shut Him out of our lives and refuse to trust Him with every detail. I’m reading through a book right now called “Draw the Circle-40 Day Prayer Challenge,” (highly recommend this along with “Circle Maker”, by Mark Batterson”) and he writes, “The greatest tragedy in life is the prayers that go unanswered simply because they go unasked.”

My prayer today..if you do not know God as a true Father, that you would come to know Him in this way. If you HAVE experienced His love in this way, and you have ALL the stories, I’d love to hear them!! Please feel free to share them!! The world needs to hear our testimonies of His awesome love!

AND.. next time you’re in Marshalls…and you need a jeanskirt (wink)…say a little prayer cause you just might get it!!
